Lamborghini Huracan

- Lamborghini Huracan Evo -

To celebrate an end of an era for the Lamborghini Huracan, I thought I would write a post about it. Meanwhile, Lambo are releasing a limited run version called the 'STJ' which is just another addition to the already vast Huracan family.

A new generation of Lamborghini resulted in the Huracan in 2014 and just like it's father, the Gallardo, it retained its awesome V10. Since the release, there have been about 20 variations of the Huracan with different power, drivetrain and styling on each. They just seemed to get more ridiculous as the years went on! They've created track-weapons like the STO and even an off-road version called the Sterrato so I think it might just be the most diverse car ever.

The Huracan is undeniably beautiful, a true poster car and there is also no way that someone could say that it doesn't sound good. The interior is modern and has up-to-date technology so it won't ever feel like you're driving an old car - even if it is 10 years old! It is so aggressive from the front and sporty from the back and sides which is everything you want in a super car.

Now the engine stays the same in all the models, its a 5.2L naturally aspirated V10 which makes climate activists clench their fists. It has a dual-clutch transmission and either rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive depending on your model and how much money you are willing to spend. The most powerful Huracan, the Performante has 640bhp and 600NM of torque. It will launch from 0-60 in just over 3 seconds and tops out at 201mph.

The price varies, once again, depending on the model. They average at around £250,000 for a brand new one but there are plenty of used ones for sale as the Huracan is confirmed to stop product in the next couple of years. It competes with the likes of the Audi R8, Aston Martin Vantage, Ferrari Roma and Porsche 911 models. It might not be the fastest, cheapest or most comfortable but it definitely looks and sounds the best... I will take the Lambo.

Unfortunately, the next generation is going to disappoint a few people as it is rumoured to part ways with the glorious V10. Just like the Revuelto and recently-announced Urus S-E, it is going to be a hybrid. Strong sources suggest it will have a V8 and will be called the 'Temerario' which loosely translates to 'Reckless'. It's not an EV, which is good, let's give it a chance.
